Magnifistorm A-Brewin'!

  With the next booster pack Doom of Dimensions set to release at the end of next month (Sept. 26), now seems like as good a time as any to talk about its upcoming archetypes.   And, since I’ve already discussed the Doom-Z monsters, that means it’s time for the Magnifistorms.   Ever since the dawn of the franchise, Wind-Attribute monsters and archetypes have been strongly associated with storms and the wind itself.   From Harpie Ladies to Mist Valleys to Majispecters.   And now, joining those ranks, we have the new Magnifistorm archetype debuting in Doom of Dimensions.   I can’t rightly remember the last archetype that was based around an already pre-existing card (if one ever even did exist), but the Magnifistorms are based around the staple Quick-Play Spell Card Mystical Space Typhoon.   And, let’s be honest: If you don’t even know what that is, then what are you even doing here?   Level and Type-wise, they seem to be all o...

August 2025 Update

    Welcome back to the blog, everyone.   First of all, I had recently run across a certain bit of information last week that I thought I should share with you all.   It isn’t much, but what makes it particularly prescient is that it concerns one of the new archetypes coming out in Phantom Revengers that Konami has been mysteriously silent about.   Not too long ago, I shared with you a quick breakdown of the Hecatoncheire archetype from said pack, but we still have yet to learn anything concrete about its two sister archetypes: the Killertunes and the Enneacraft.   All that we’ve basically had to go on for a dog’s age is that the Enneacraft are set to be Flip Effect monsters and the Killertunes will involve Synchro Summoning in some way.   But I have learned, via Yugipedia, that the word “Enneacraft” is apparently written with the kanji characters that read “Sin-Investigating Machine”.   What exactly this means, I don’t know, but...
